NDRRMC Records 17 more Yolanda Deaths
MANILA - The death count from the super typhoon Yolanda resumed with 17 more fatalities added into the official tally board of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Tuesday.
The official count is now at 6,183, a slight increase from the previous 6,166.
The number of injured and missing remained the same, 28,626 and 1,785, respectively.
Yolanda whipped Central Visayas on November 8 particularly Eastern and Western Samar and Leyte where the bulk of fatalities were recorded.
Concerned authorities have yet to completely bury some 2,000 bodies in Tacloban City, almost two months after the deluge.
The calamity affected more than 16 million people, destroyed more than 1 million houses, and destroyed more than P36 billion worth in infrastructure and agriculture.
